Mike Hunter is an Oklahoman, born and raised. Born in Enid, Oklahoma, he grew up tending his family’s farm in Garfield County. He earned his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University in 1978 and went on to graduate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1982.

Oklahoma Attorney General pushes for cold case legislation.

OKLAHOMA CITY — (AP) -- Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter says he will push for legislation next year that requires local law enforcement to enter data from cold cases involving missing or unidentified persons into a national database.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter has filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit urging the court to reverse a federal judge’s declaration that the Colorado sex offender registration is unconstitutional.
Joining the brief in support of Colorado were attorneys general from all other states in the jurisdiction of the 10th circuit including, Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Attorney General Mike Hunter today applauded the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for overturning a lower court’s decision that prohibited making information on sex offenders unavailable to the public.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter met with and presented checks to representatives with law enforcement agencies and district attorneys today at the monthly District Attorneys Council meeting for the role each played in providing assistance or manpower during the 2015 raid of the Mr. Coolz shops in Oklahoma City, shutting down a criminal enterprise.

State attorney general announces crime fighting grants.

MIDWEST CITY — More than $1.3 million will be distributed among 22 statewide law enforcement agencies this year under the Safe Oklahoma Grant Program, Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter announced Friday.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter today charged Dr. Regan Nichols with five counts of second degree murder in relation to the death of at least five patients during her time working at a Midwest City clinic.
